Luxury in the Land of High Passes: My Ladakh Staycation Experience

I’ve been to Ladakh before, the adventurous way. Crammed into a shared cab from Manali, puffed in like cotton in a pillow with fellow travellers. The ride was long and bumpy, but the ever-changing landscapes made every twist and turn worth it.

This time, the journey looked a little different. We got a chance to spend a week in Ladakh, not on the move but in the comforts of a luxurious hotel. While we were working full-time during our stay, the peaceful mountain air and cozy corners gave us the perfect balance. We spent the day working remotely and used the mornings and evenings to explore the city on foot. Food was never a worry since it was included in our package.

In this blog, I’ll be sharing the highlights of the stay.

From city blocks to mountain tops, this window seat feels like another world.

Human spirit finds a way to belong. 🙂

There was a time when I only dreamed of sitting on a swing like this, savoring brunch before office hours, and now I’ve lived that moment.

Morning sun, mountain breeze, and a plate full of joy, under the Shingko trees

Found the perfect reading nook… it swings!

The design of the buildings and the materials used will remind you of Ladakh and Tibetan style. The cottages are well-spaced, quite spacious, and have all the modern comforts you need.

The buffet brunch and dinner served here are really tasty. The staff is polite and always welcomes you with a warm smile.

Rain is another rarity in Ladakh. I never imagined I’d witness it, yet one quiet evening, it arrived like a whisper.

Feels like a dream farmhouse… but hey, pinch pinch! Reality check! It’s going to take a few more years of hard work to get there.

The air has little moisture, and it’s common in cold deserts
