Manali is a paradise for nature lovers, adventure seekers, and of course, foodies. During my time here, I’ve had the pleasure of exploring many of its cafes each offering not only delicious food but also stunning views. In this blog post, I’ll be sharing some of my favourite cafes in Manali with a special focus on vegetarian options.
Cafe 1947
Cafe 1947 is located in the quaint lanes of Old Manali is a must visit. This riverside cafe is known for its cozy ambiance and Italian cuisine. As a vegetarian, you’ll love their wood-fired pizzas, creamy pastas, and fresh salads. The serene sound of the river and the rustic wooden interiors make it a perfect spot to unwind after a day of exploration. Don’t miss their live music nights, which add a magical touch to the dining experience.

Fat Plate Restaurant
Fat plate is situated on the Naggar Road. It is known for its farm-to-table concept. The restaurant uses fresh, locally sourced ingredients to create delicious vegetarian dishes. Their menu includes a variety of Indian and Continental options, such as paneer steak, vegetable lasagna, and seasonal salads. The restaurant’s beautiful garden setting and serene atmosphere make it a perfect spot for a peaceful meal.

While visiting Naggar, you can plan a brunch and also buy homemade lingdi pickles and a variety of jams, all free from artificial flavours and preservatives from this cafe.

Johnson’s Cafe
Johnson’s cafe is situated on Circuit House Road, Johnson’s Cafe offers a blend of Continental and local flavours. It is known for its charming outdoor seating and famous for its trout dishes. However, their vegetarian menu is equally impressive, dishes like grilled vegetables, cheese platters, and hearty soups. The lush green garden and the view of the mountains make dining here a delightful experience.
The Corner House
The Corner House, located on Mall Road, offers a delightful mix of Indian and Continental cuisine in a warm and inviting atmosphere. Vegetarian diners will appreciate their diverse menu, featuring options like vegetable biryani, paneer butter masala, and fresh salads. My favourites are their spring rolls and cold coffee. The cozy interiors and friendly service make it a favourite among locals and tourists alike.

The Lazy Dog Lounge
Another gem in Old Manali, The Lazy Dog Lounge – a relaxed vibe with its eclectic menu and riverside seating. Their vegetarian options include Asian-inspired dishes like stir-fried vegetables, tofu curries, and noodles. The laid-back ambience, coupled with occasional live music, makes it an ideal spot for a leisurely meal.
Cafe Amigos
Cafe Amigos is located on Mall Road. It brings a taste of Mexico to Manali. Their vegetarian menu includes delightful options like tacos, burritos, and nachos. The bright and cheerful decor, coupled with friendly service, makes it a great place for a quick bite or a relaxed meal.
Rocky’s Cafe
Perched in the scenic hills of Old Manali, Rocky’s Cafe offers a stunning view of the mountains along with its delicious vegetarian menu. Known for its laid-back vibe and friendly service, this café serves a variety of dishes including vegetable momos, hummus with pita, and hearty soups. The terrace seating provides a perfect backdrop for enjoying a meal while soaking in the natural beauty of Manali.
Dana Coffee House and German Bakery
Dana Coffee House and German Bakery is a popular spot in Old Manali known for its delectable baked goods and aromatic coffee. This cafe offers a range of vegetarian-friendly options, from freshly baked bread and pastries to hearty breakfast platters and sandwiches. Their German-style cakes and pastries are a must-try. The cozy atmosphere, with indoor and outdoor seating options, makes it a great place to relax and enjoy a sweet treat or a light meal.

Pizza Olive
They serve tasty wood-fired pizzas with many vegetarian toppings to choose from. The menu also has fresh salads and homemade pasta. A must visit if you’re into thin crust pizzas, it’s thinner than you can imagine and just the perfect blend of cheese and veggies. Everything served here is so fresh and delicious. There is outside and inside seating as well.

The Last Stop Cafe
The place really lives up to its name, taking you to a world where it’s just you and nature. The view of the Manalsu river is beautiful, and all you hear is the peaceful sound of the stream, making it very relaxing. The space was clean and well-maintained, and the hosts were friendly and helpful. The food is amazing, and I definitely recommend having a cup of tea or fresh lime soda by the riverside – it’s the perfect way to relax.
