Justa Lake Nahargarh

When we stayed for a long time at my in-law’s place in Kota, we were pretty busy visiting relatives and doing lots of things. We felt like we needed a break, so we wanted to go somewhere nice to relax for a bit. My friend from school told me about Justa Nahargarh, so I thought it sounded like a good place to stay, and we decided to book it.

Justa Lake Nahargarh is one of the best resorts near Chittorgarh surrounded by a lake and built like Jal Mahal and Taj Lake Palace, Udaipur.

A few kilometers before our destination, we took a left turn onto a narrow road surrounded by farms. The road was off-road, flanked by stone walls built by farmers to protect their fields. Ahead of us was a herd of cattle. When they sensed our presence, they all started running, except for one buffalo. I remember her so fondly. She had the prettiest eyelashes, cute smile and was so shy. She knew we were there and ran a little before stopping to look back. We stopped the car immediately. She came closer, blinked at us, and then ran away. She did the same for around 10-15 minutes, running ahead and then stopping to look back at us. I have never seen such a curious and endearing buffalo.

I learned more about this place from the manager. This isn’t a natural lake, it was dug and created as a manmade lake. When the water level drops, you can see the pebbles because the water is so clean.

I enjoyed my stay at the property, the food at the restaurant was good, and the views were spectacular. I love staying at places surrounded by water and palaces.

I came here to relax, so I walked around the property, watched the sunset without any hurry. I was half reading my book and half gazing outside at the little mountain and the lake from a cozy seating arrangement near the window..
