A Sick Day Turned Creative Escape

Down with fever, cold, and cough, facing a screen to write code felt like an insurmountable challenge. Rather than pushing through, I decided to prioritize self-care and took a much-needed day off to rest. The struggle of being sick lies in finding ways to engage the mind without adding stress. In an effort to keep my brain active yet relaxed, I spent the day repurposing my old calendar.

My desk companion, the calendar, was too dear to discard. Instead of tossing it aside, I opted for a therapeutic approachβ€”I painted it with minimal finishing, added handwritten numbers, and voila! My very own uniquely repurposed calendar emerged, bringing a sense of accomplishment and joy even on a sick day. Sometimes, the best medicine is a dose of creativity and a splash of color to brighten up both your space and your spirits.

Today, on January 22, 2024, marks the Ayodhya Ram Mandir Pran Pratishtha. The celebration extends beyond Ayodhya, the entire country is participating in the festivities. Here’s a glimpse of how my society’s pathway (Pune) looksβ€”vibrant, adorned with colorful rangoli. Despite having less energy, I managed to take a brief stroll around and soak in the festive atmosphere.

As the sun set, I retired to bed to get some rest. Despite being unable to go downstairs and witness the celebrations, I caught glimpses of the fireworks from my bed. With a smile, I folded my hands and expressed gratitude for the presence of the divine in all my highs and lows.
